Own a Golden Homes franchise
Your own estate agency, under a name South Africans have bought and sold homes with since 2000.
Golden Homes has been selling homes in South Africa since 2000 and franchising since 2006. We now have 11 branches in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, and we're looking for more. If you're a qualified property practitioner and you want your own office, there are two ways to do it with Golden Homes, anywhere in the country.
Two ways in
Take a franchise. You own the business. You're the principal, you run the office and the trust account, and you build a team in your area under the Golden Homes name. Head Office gives you the brand, the systems and the support.
Open a branch. You're a good agent but not a principal yet. You open a Golden Homes office in your area and run it day to day as branch manager, with Head Office behind you as principal. We train you towards your principal qualification, and when you're ready, the branch can become your own franchise.
Who we're looking for
- A valid Fidelity Fund Certificate from the PPRA
- For a franchise: principal status, or close to it, and the means to set up an office
- For a branch: Full Status as a property practitioner and a track record of selling
- An area you know, where buyers and sellers already know you
- A good name in the industry and with your clients
What you get from Head Office
- The Golden Homes name. A brand that's been selling homes since 2000, with signboards, branded stock and a website buyers already use.
- Your own pages online. Your branch and each of your agents get a page on goldenhomes.co.za, with your listings coming through from Property24 every 15 minutes.
- One portal for the office. Contacts, listings, sales, invoices, payslips, compliance and training, in one place.
- Marketing to your clients. Birthday and follow-up messages to your contacts, charged at cost per message.
- Training. For you and your agents, from your first listing to your principal exams.
- Compliance support. Help with PPRA, FICA, POPIA and PAIA, so the paperwork doesn't stop you selling.
- 37 years of experience. Yvonne van Wyk, who owns Golden Homes, has been in property since 1989 and is on the other end of the phone.
Why Golden Homes
Every Golden Homes branch is owned by someone who lives in the area they sell, and Head Office is there for everything else. You keep your own clients, your own team and your own name in your town, and you don't have to build an agency from nothing.

What does it cost to open a Golden Homes franchise?
It depends on the area and on whether you take a franchise or open a branch. Call Andre Bredenkamp on 079 088 4928 to talk it through.
Do I need to be a principal to take a franchise?
To own a franchise, yes, you need principal status with the PPRA. If you're not there yet, you can open a Golden Homes branch and we'll train you towards it.
What's the difference between a franchise and a branch?
With a franchise you own the business and you're the principal. With a branch you run the office as branch manager, and Head Office is the principal until you qualify.
Can I open a Golden Homes office anywhere in South Africa?
Yes. We're open to new branches nationwide, as long as the area isn't already covered by an existing Golden Homes branch.
Can I bring my own agents with me?
Yes. Every agent must have a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate, and we'll help you register any agent who is new to the industry.
Do I keep my own clients?
Yes. Your clients and listings belong to your branch.
